Thudakkam works best when it stays close to Meenu, her bond with her father, and the physicality of her survival. Vismaya Mohanlal brings an assured screen presence, while Jude Anthany Joseph gives the first half enough emotional grounding and momentum. The film loses some force as the writing settles into more predictable action-thriller beats, but it remains an engaging watch with a sincere emotional core.

The strongest stretch of Thudakkam is its setup. The film gives Meenu a lived-in family world before pushing her into danger, which makes the later survival stakes feel more personal than mechanical.

Vismaya Mohanlal carries much of the film through movement, restraint and physical confidence. Rather than overplaying the dramatic moments, she gives Meenu a grounded quality that helps the character remain believable when the film shifts into action mode.

Jude Anthany Joseph stages the early portions with warmth and clarity, and the father-daughter dynamic gives the film its emotional anchor. That human texture is what distinguishes Thudakkam from a routine chase-and-survival thriller.

The weaker section arrives when the narrative begins leaning on familiar genre turns. Some developments are easy to anticipate, and the second half does not deepen the characters as much as the opening promises. A tighter screenplay could have made the emotional payoff and action escalation hit harder.

Even so, Thudakkam is an effective introduction for its lead and an accessible family-rooted thriller. It may not reinvent the genre, but its sincerity, central performance and emotional foundation make it worth a watch on streaming.

Verdict: A promising debut vehicle with heart and physical conviction, even when the thriller mechanics become familiar.
