Dulquer Salmaan's Malayalam comeback starts as a flashy gambling-and-gangster entertainer before swerving into stranger fantasy territory. The scale, action and committed central performance keep it moving, but the tonal shifts and familiar revenge beats make the film less consistent than its ambition suggests.

I'm Game is at its best when it embraces the oddness hiding beneath its glossy commercial surface. Nahas Hidhayath builds a heightened world of casinos, swagger and violence, then gradually pulls the story toward fantasy and body-horror ideas that give the film a more distinctive identity.

Dulquer Salmaan carries the tonal balancing act with an assured star performance, while the supporting cast gives the film enough texture to survive its more conventional passages. The action and production design deliver spectacle, though the screenplay sometimes falls back on familiar revenge-drama machinery instead of pushing its stranger ideas further.

The result is uneven but rarely timid: a mainstream entertainer willing to take a genuine genre swing, even if not every bet pays off.

Verdict: A bold genre gamble with energy to spare, even when the screenplay cannot fully cash in on its ideas.
