Awarapan 2 brings Shivam back: cast, crew and what the sequel adds

Everything verified so far about Awarapan 2, kept clear, spoiler-free and easy to save for later.

Awarapan 2 is now in theatres, bringing Emraan Hashmi back as Shivam Pandit nearly two decades after the first Awarapan became a cult favourite for its melancholy, music and wounded central character. The sequel is directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Films, with Mukesh Bhatt and Vishesh Bhatt credited among the producers. Its story returns Shivam to Bangkok, where a new criminal-world conflict gives the character another reason to confront the past he has carried for years.

Hashmi leads the film with Disha Patani as Zara. The supporting cast includes Shabana Azmi, Suvinder Vicky, Puran Gabbi and Vijayant Kohli. The reunion is less about simply repeating the 2007 film and more about placing an older Shivam in a new mission, while keeping the franchise’s emotional-action identity intact. The Bangkok setting also reconnects the sequel to the international visual scale audiences associate with the original.

For viewers deciding whether to book a ticket, the key thing to know is that Awarapan 2 is designed as a continuation with a strong nostalgia pull. It can be watched as a Hindi action thriller on its own, but people who revisit the first film will have more context for Shivam’s emotional weight. A streaming platform and digital-release date have not been officially confirmed, so theatrical availability remains the only confirmed way to watch at the time of publication.
